OPTOMETRISTS WANTED – 5 POSITIONS

A great career awaits an experienced optometrist in a busy independent practice in Rockhampton in central Queensland.

If you are as passionate about customer service as we are, then consider joining our fully trained dispensing team, in an easy going environment.   The practice has been established for over 16 years and has an extensive clientele.

The practice has two consultation rooms, both fitted with modern equipment and one room has a visual field analyzer.

The successful applicant will need to be a fully qualified optometrist, and be experienced in contact lens consultations and fittings as well as dispensing spectacles.  The successful applicant will need to be registered with the Australian Optometry Association, Queensland.

This is a great opportunity to earn an excellent income and gain invaluable experience at the same time.  Salary range is from $90,000.00 (for a graduate with little experience) to $140,000.00 for an experienced optometrist.

The central Queensland area has many varied opportunities to offer you.  With the coast only 45 kilometres away - you can have the choice of living in the city or at the coast, whatever you prefer.  The immediate area of Rockhampton has a population of over 100,000 but still has the friendly feel of a country town.

Engineering

Design Engineer

Our client based in Sydney is a hi-tech electronics manufacturer specialising in the cutting edge design and manufacture of data communication products. Their security “back to base” systems and services include the highest quality and most advanced GPRS monitoring equipment.

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to take responsibility for the existing systems and also complete new projects.  
Your role will include

  • Maintain/update and modify the system server software written in Borland C++.
  • Maintain/update existing network infrastructure, Cisco routers, DSL modems, firewalls, switches etc.
  • Design of embedded controllers, low voltage switch mode power supplies and other hardware.
  • Liaise with major Telco carriers.

We expect proficiency in

  • C++ on a windows platform.
  • C compilers for microprocessors.
  • Writing interrupt handlers and startup code and has a good working knowledge of at least two assembly languages.
  • Network protocols TCP/IP, UDP,  PPP. Ability to change router configurations, such as port forwarding, firewall rules etc.
  • Protel 99SE, schematic and pcb.
  • Electronic circuit design analogue and digital.

Ideally you will have at least five years experience working in a similar role with hands-on experience. You pride yourself in your commercial product design experience and your ability to write technical documents. Extensive C programming skills, excellent communication skills and outstanding customer service are essential.

Salary package A$100,000 – A$130,000 p.a based on experience

Queensland project Engineer – 3 positions

To assist in identifying and developing new major project business opportunities and provision of Engineering support in Queensland. The role requires establishment of key client relationships in the civil construction, resources, maintenance, equipment supply, building, and infrastructure sectors and to generate revenue growth from both existing and new clients. The role primarily focuses on established major contract clients in the region and new major project business opportunities.

Site Supervisor – 2 positions

RESPONSIBILITIES Include but are not limited to:

  • Job Planning including Lift Plans, Resource Planning.
  • Job Establishment including Site Procedural Sign Off,  Job Safety Analysis, Pre Start Meetings
  • OHS including Tool Box Meetings, Safety Observations, Equipment Audits
  • Contract Management including Monthly Meetings, Cost Saving Initiatives, and Achievement of Contractual KPI’s.
  • Business Development including Client Relationship Development, New Business and Solution Development, Cross Divisional Selling.

Transformer Design Engineers – 3 positions
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Formal qualifications in design of transformers.
  • Must have the ability to design and redesign transformers ‘manually’ i.e. without the aid of proprietary software.
  • Solid experience in design of both new and repaired transformers.
  • Must have experience in finding the causes of failures in transformers and the solutions to repair them.
  • Experience in technically project managing both the manufacture of new transformers and the repair of older transformers.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Computer skills (word, excel)
  • Good presentation and customer relationship building skills.
